Vocational Education

Learners at Carmel College are given a 'jump-start' to their careers through the provision and support of Vocational Education opportunities during their senior years.

Students pursue their development in areas of interest both on campus, as well as through structured off-site placement and learning. Opportunities for completing these nationally recognised qualifications are available to all students in Years 11 and 12.

Vocational Education at Carmel College is provided for in a number of ways.

  • Coordinating VET outside of the College through TAFE or alternative providers
  • Placement and monitoring of school-based apprenticeships and trainees
  • Structured work placement


External Campus

While Carmel College is a Registered Training Organisation, we liaise with other educational institutions - such as TAFE Queensland and other private providers – to allow students experience in real-life and life-like learning activities. Students are welcome to participate in school based traineeships and apprenticeships.


Work Experience and Placement

Carmel College encourages students to experience the world of work by undertaking work experience to assist in their career decision making. Students partake in work experience during school holidays.  However, if work experience is a pre-requisite for a School based Apprenticeship/Traineeship, it can be arranged throughout the school term.
